Welcome back to campus, Longhorns. Returning to a routine after the winter break is an opportunity to explore new hobbies, connect with new people and try new activities. Below are some of our tips to help you feel ready for the spring term.
Attend a fun event
We provide a variety of events - from pop-ups to themed dinners, cooking demos and more -throughout the academic year. Check out our Events page, which is regularly updated with events open to all Longhorns. In addition to our website, you can also find information about our latest events on our Instagram.
Find your new favorite study spot
Shake up your study routine with a new favorite spot this term. Whether you prefer to study solo or with your friends, locate a new spot and grab some caffeine while you hit the books. For ideas, check out our Spotlights highlighting campus coffee shops, hidden gem hall spaces and more.
Take advantage of campus resources
We are here to support your Longhorn experience as a UT student and UHD resident. Take advantage of all UT has to offer with these resources and more:
- Healthyhorns – includes University Health Services, the Counseling and Mental Health Center, and the Longhorn Wellness Center.
- UT Outpost – free on-campus food pantry and career closet.
- Sanger Learning Center – academic coaching, peer tutoring, supplemental instruction and more.
- LinkedIn Learning, Kanopy and Canva Pro are free with your UT log-in information.
For additional support, you can visit the Campus Resources page on the Office of the Dean of Students website or check out our Exploring your Resources on the Forty Spotlight.
Shop sustainably at UT Farm Stand
Stop by our biweekly UT Farm Stand Markets, which showcase campus-grown and locally sourced food, house-made products, educational opportunities and more. Make sure you bring your own bag to hold your seasonal purchases. If you want to become involved with UT Farm Stand’s gardens, markets or zero waste efforts, you can fill out their volunteer form.
The beginning of the term is filled with excitement, a new schedule and establishing routines. Remember to give yourself time to rest and engage with your Longhorn community as you adjust back to life on the Forty. Find an event to attend, take advantage of resources, and most importantly, have a great spring term, Longhorns.
