As you return to campus, many things will be new – the term, your classes and schedule – and you may need new spots to hang out or study in. Find your new favorite campus space by checking out these residence hall spots.
Jester Computer Lab
If you’re looking for a solo or group study space, check out the Jester West computer lab (pictured above) on the basement level. This space is accessible to both residents and guests during the day. Not to be confused with the ping pong table and community kitchen for socializing, the computer lab is in a separate space for quieter work. The lab has whiteboards, computers and modern furniture that make it a great place for academics. Don’t let the basement location fool you – it is full of natural light during the day thanks to its large windows.
Kinsolving North and South Lounges
On the first floor of Kinsolving you’ll find the north and south lounges on either side of Kin’s Market. Open to all students during the day, the north lounge has a variety of tables, couches and chairs where students can meet to study or take a break. The south lounge is at the entrance of Kins Dining and features stately tables and chairs best for studying or snacking. There is also a grand piano in the south lounge and you may be lucky enough to get serenaded by a talented peer.
Residence Hall Community Kitchens
Interested in cooking on campus? In addition to having a microfridge in your room, all residents have access to a community kitchen in their area. Whether you want to prepare a home-cooked meal or just bake a batch of cookies for your floor, the community kitchens have the kitchen supplies and appliances you need. Residents can check out the key to their area’s kitchen, as well as cooking supplies, from their hall’s front desk.
