Mooov-In will be here before we know it – familiarize yourself with important dates and how we communicate with you. We know you’re excited to move into your new campus home and we are too. Take note of these key dates over the summer and keep your eyes peeled for our communication to you. We can’t wait to welcome you home to the Forty Acres!

This article is for the on-campus residence halls and Dobie Twenty21. Incoming 2400 Nueces residents can find information specific to their Mooov-In process on the 2400 Nueces Mooov-In page.

How We Communicate with Residents

We communicate with residents regularly through our social media channels, email and a monthly digital newsletter called News You Can Use. The newsletter informs you about upcoming events, important dates, housing updates, job opportunities and more. Make sure your email address is accurate and up to date.

You can also check our homepage for pertinent topics or action items under Happening Now, featured Spotlight stories, dining hours with the Dining Location Status tracker and upcoming events. With the events feature, you can click on an event listing to view its full details, including time and location. You can also get reminded about any upcoming event by adding it to your Google, Outlook or iCal calendar from its listing page.

In the event of a residence hall or campus-wide emergency, we work with the university and use various methods to communicate with residents, including the UT website, our website, campus siren system, residence hall intercom systems and email.

Important Dates Leading Up to Mooov-In

Once you receive a contract offer and pay your $300 advance payment, you have access to the Roommate Groups page in your housing portal to search for roommates by details, profile questions or profile percentage match. You can continue to update your preferences until July 1. Visit the room assignments page to learn more.

Get a head start on your pre-arrival checklist by filling out and submitting the emergency contact form and completing all applicable medical clearance requirements.

Wednesday, June 1 Room assignment process begins for on-campus Living Learning Communities (LLCs). If you applied and are accepted to an LLC, our housing team will assign your room. Online room selection begins for students eligible for Honors Housing planning to live in the Quad (Andrews, Blanton, Carothers and Littlefield).

Wednesday, June 8 Online room selection begins for on-campus residence halls. Room selection timeslots are assigned prior to June 8 in housing application date order. Friday, July 1 Students can change rooms themselves in the housing portal through the room swap page until July 31. Friday, July 15 The lottery for R parking permits begins for access to garages near the residence halls.
