Mooov-In Guide

This page will guide you through the Mooov-In process for fall 2020. The safety of our students is the top priority for University Housing and Dining, so we have implemented new guidelines to help all residents have a safe and smooth Mooov-In experience. Please continue to monitor this page for updates to the process and our homepage for frequently asked questions.

Requirements for Mooov-In:

  • Face coverings are required for everyone throughout the Mooov-In process.
  • This year it is especially important to arrive at your scheduled appointment time (reserved through the housing portal) to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
  • Please bring no more than two guests to campus to help you move in. Try to pack only essential belongings.

Be sure to check out the links in the margins for what to bring, things you should know before you get to campus and other helpful information. Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Select the section with your check-in date for all the details you need to know about the Mooov-In process.

  • Early Check-In at respective Residence Hall Desk
    August 17 at 3 p.m. through August 20 at 5 a.m.
    • Early check-in is reserved for those students who need to return to campus prior to the centralized check-in event typically due to a University affiliation. Checking in early costs an additional daily fee and requires prior permission from University Housing and Dining.
    • Note: Between 5 – 7 a.m. on August 20 there is no check-in available as we relocate room keys in preparation for centralized check-in.
    • Schedule your early check-in time on your housing portal page. The earliest residents can check in for the fall semester is 3 p.m. (CT) on Monday, August 17. Do not try to move in prior to this time; staff will not be able to assist you.
    • There is a $50 per day fee for checking in early charged to your ‘What I Owe’ page as part of your housing bill. Nothing is due until the first payment of the housing bill on Sept. 15.
    • Where do I go? Go to the designated front desk for your residence hall at the time/day that you have chosen for early arrival.

      • The check-in scheduler helps limit the amount of traffic on campus. Traffic is typically lighter during early morning or late evening check-in times.
    • Where is centralized check-in? UFCU Disch-Falk Field located at 1300 E Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Austin TX 78702. Use the Centralized check-in Residence Hall Route Map below or click DFF on this map to locate UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

    • Why am I going to UFCU Disch-Falk Field? The majority of students check-in during Centralized check-in, so we host a key pick up at UFCU Disch-Falk Field to accommodate everyone faster. We estimate your wait time will be 15 – 20 minutes to get your keys once you are in line at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. All residents must pick up their keys from UFCU Disch-Falk Field prior to unloading at their residence hall.
    • Please arrive during your allotted time. If a traffic jam or unexpected delay causes you to be a few minutes late, don’t worry. Relax and drive safely. You do not need to notify University Housing and Dining (UHD) that you are running a few minutes late. However, if you are running hours (or a day) late, try to update the check-in scheduler online or email UT Housing.
    • Staff will be wearing official Mooov-In t-shirts. They will be able to help you with any questions.
    • What to expect when checking in

    • Unloading and parking

      • Parking is limited, so please bring only needed vehicles to campus during this time. Cars with trailers may be difficult to find parking for in unloading zone spaces and will not fit in the decks, and therefore are not recommended.
