As fall sets in and the weather starts to cool a bit, check out these outdoor residence hall spaces. Whether you’re hanging out with friends, studying or taking a break, these spaces are great for enjoying autumn in Austin.
Littlefield Patio Cafe Outdoor Area
Stop by Littlefield Patio Cafe (LPC, pictured above) to grab a coffee, pastry or scoop of gelato and enjoy some shade on the covered patio outside. The patio has a variety of seating options so you can have quality alone time or meet up with friends. Next to the patio, you’ll find a lawn that’s great for both picnicking and showing off your cornhole skills. Lawn games are available for check out at the LPC register with your UT ID.
Kins Dining Courtyard
The Kins Dining Courtyard is located on the north side of Kins Dining (on the far left when you walk in). The patio has a covered area for guests to sit and enjoy their meal. Beyond the seating area is the Kinsolving Garden, where UT Farm Stand grows produce for use in the dining halls and sells at UT Farm Stand Markets. Eat, socialize, and study al fresco in this secluded and peaceful space next time you grab a meal at Kins Dining.
San Jacinto Amphitheater
Grab a blanket, snacks and your study materials and head to the amphitheater outside San Jacinto Hall for a productive picnic as the weather begins to cool. Originally slated as space for the hall’s third residential tower, this scenic area offers ample room to read, study and relax alone or alongside others. The Clark Field recreational complex is just around the corner, if you decide that you want to stretch your legs with a run or stroll around the track.
