In February 2024, the UT Board of Regents approved the first new undergraduate housing development in nearly two decades. Scheduled to open in 2027, the redeveloped Whitis Court will expand this close-knit community with an additional 800 beds. Originally opened in 1953 with six buildings accommodating 200 residents, Whitis Court will undergo a significant transformation. This new construction project not only reflects UHD's dedication to meeting the growing demands for student housing but also underscores our vision for providing safe, affordable, and quality on-campus living spaces that lead to academic success and personal growth.
