Whether you study best in a quiet corner, outside in the fresh air or with a snack nearby, finding the right setting can make all the difference. With plenty of spaces to choose from across the Forty Acres, there’s a spot for every kind of study session. Check out some of our favorite places to study on campus.

Cypress Bend Cafe

Cypress Bend Cafe, located inside of San Jacinto Residence Hall, recently completed a major renovation, creating an updated campus space to grab a bite, take a break and get some work done. Here you can find a wide variety of options for breakfast and lunch, including agua frescas beverages, matcha, bakery items, and assortments of tacos, wraps, sandwiches and more. When you need a change of scenery, take your work to the shaded outdoor patio and enjoy the fresh air and grounded feeling that comes with studying outside.

Location: 309 E 21st St.

Prufrock’s and Perry Castañeda Library

Prufrock’s is a convenient spot to grab a coffee or a quick bite while spending time at Perry-Castañeda Library (PCL). Located on the ground floor of the PCL, Prufrock’s offers Starbucks coffee and beverages, on-the-go meals, pastries and more, making it easy to grab something without leaving the library. You might be familiar with the PCL, but there’s more to explore across its six floors, including collaborative and silent study spaces, computer labs, print stations, plenty of outlets, massage chairs and more. Whether you’re stopping in between classes or settling in for a few hours, you can pick up something from Prufrock’s and find a spot throughout the PCL to enjoy it.

Littlefield Patio Cafe

Littlefield Patio Cafe is a popular space that offers plenty of options to make your study session your own. A caffeine reboot is always within reach with Starbucks coffee or your choice of energy drink, as well as a range of food options including pastries, breakfast favorites, bistro-style dining, and grab and go lunch. When you’re ready to find a spot and get into study mode, this cafe offers many indoor and outdoor covered seating areas. Next time you find yourself wandering on Dean Keaton, stop by Littlefield Patio Cafe - you may have found yourself a new go-to study spot on campus.

William C. Powers Student Activity Center

Located on Speedway next to Gregory Gym, the William C. Powers Student Activity Center (WCP) is the perfect place to get some work done while you grab a snack or meal. Across its multiple levels, you’ll find stand-alone tables, study lounges and built in seating along the stairs, with large window views offering lots of natural light. There’s also plenty of patio seating around the building, giving you the option to take your work outside for a change of scenery. When you’re ready for a break, the WCP has a food court with a variety of dining options including Chick-fil-A, Sabor Tacos y Más, One Two Three Sushi and Longhorn Coffee Co. You can also stop by Hook ’em Hut, our mini-convenience store with grab and go food, beverages and snacks to keep you going.

These are only a few of the many places to study, recharge and spend time across the Forty Acres. Enjoy exploring campus to find the spot that works best for you.
