Jester Center is home to more than dining halls and living spaces — inside Jester West Hall is the Sanger Learning Center, an academic support hub for all UT students. Conveniently located near J2 Dining, Jesta’ Pizza and other dining locations, Sanger Learning Center offers a wide array of free services, all of which exist to help you succeed as a Longhorn. Whether you prefer to study in person with a learning specialist or are looking for course-specific digital resources through PEARL, Sanger Learning Center has support that fits your needs.
One-to-One Tutoring
All students receive 25 free tutoring credits at the start of each term, which can be used to schedule one-to-one tutoring sessions with trained peer tutors at Sanger Learning Center. You can check the list of courses offered for tutoring both in person at Jester Center and on Zoom on the Sanger Learning Center website.
Drop-in Tutoring
For quick questions, group study sessions and more, Sanger Learning Center offers drop-in tutoring in person and on Zoom in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, economics, math and physics. These sessions are free to join at any time throughout the fall and spring terms.
Interactive Workshops
From time management to public speaking, Sanger Learning Center offers a variety of interactive workshops with trained student educators both in person and online. You can check the list of available workshops on Sanger Learning Center’s website.
Peer Academic Coaching
Undergraduate students who are trained and supervised by learning specialists are available for both ongoing and single-appointment coaching at Sanger Learning Center. You can choose to meet weekly with your own peer coach for individualized support and accountability, or schedule a single appointment on a range of topics which are listed on Sanger Learning Center’s website.
Supplemental Instruction
Get more from your courses with Supplemental Instruction (SI) study sessions. Led by SI Leaders who are TAs or peers who have already successfully taken your course, SI sessions are offered twice weekly and are available to join at any point during the term.
