Double Room

Accessible Description

This fully furnished one bedroom residence hall room houses two residents in a shared space. The small entryway is flanked on its sides by two small closets, each containing shelving and a clothing rod. Each side of the room features a desk, desk chair, corkboard and lofted twin XL bed with a small dresser and cabinet underneath. The room also contains two bookshelves, a trash can and a recycling bin. There is hardwood flooring throughout, a window with blinds attached and overhead lighting.

Can I loft or bunk my bed?

Yes you can. All furniture in Moore-Hill is moveable.

Does my room come with a MicroFridge?

All residence hall rooms come with one MicroFridge. Only one refrigerator is allowed per room, please do not bring a second one. For accommodations, please contact our housing team at housing@austin.utexas.edu.

Where is my bathroom and shower?

Your community bathroom is located down the hall from this room. You will be given a security code for your assigned community bathroom when you check in. The bathroom is gender-specific. For accommodations, please email housing@austin.utexas.edu.

Does my room have a trash can and recycling bin?

All residence hall rooms come with a small trash can and recycling bin. You are responsible for placing your garbage in the trash collection area on your floor.

Moore-Hill Hall is across the street (21st Street) from both Jester Center and San Jacinto Hall. Jester Center has two dining facilities, a convenience store and an assortment of other food and drink stops. San Jacinto is the home of Cypress Bend Cafe. Does the room have air conditioning and heating?

All of our residence halls have AC and heat. Moore-Hill residents are able to control the temperature of their own room within a certain range.

Premium Single Room

Accessible Description

This fully furnished one bedroom residence hall room houses one resident in a single space. To the left upon entry is a lofted twin XL bed with a small dresser and cabinet underneath, along with a small bookshelf. To the immediate right, back against the wall, there are two small closets with shelving, clothing rods and a door-mounted towel rod inside. The room’s additional furnishings include a desk, desk chair, a MicroFridge, microwave, recycling bin and trash can. There is hardwood flooring throughout, a window with blinds attached and overhead lighting.

Premium Single Room (Private Bath)

Accessible Description

This fully furnished residence hall room houses one resident in a single space with a private bathroom. The room opens to a small entryway containing a small closet to the immediate left with shelving lining its left and right walls inside. Past the entryway is the room’s bedroom area, which is furnished by a wardrobe-style closet, a lofted twin XL bed with a small dresser and cabinet underneath, a desk, desk chair, MicroFridge, microwave, bookshelf, wall-mounted corkboard, trash can and recycling bin. These furnishings border the entirety of the room’s space, with the wardrobe on the right, the bookshelf and bins straight ahead, and the desk, desk chair and bed on the left. Between the bed and desk in the left back corner of the room is door access to the bathroom. The bedroom area features hardwood flooring throughout, overhead lighting and a window with blinds attached.

The bathroom contains a towel rod to the immediate right upon entry, followed by a single basin sink with a mirror above it straight ahead. To the left of the sink is a toilet and a shower with a shower curtain attached. The bathroom features tile flooring throughout and lighting above the shower and sink.

The room opens to a small entryway containing two small closets, one straight ahead and one to the left. Each closet has shelving, a clothing rod and a door-mounted towel rod inside. To the immediate right upon entry is the bedroom area, which is furnished by two lofted twin XL beds with small cabinets and dressers underneath, two desks and desk chairs, two wall-mounted corkboards, a trash can, recycling bin, MicroFridge, microwave, mirror and small bookshelf. The beds are located opposite each other on the far right side of the room from the entry door, with the bookshelf between them and the desks located near their bases. There are hardwood floors throughout, overhead lighting and a window with blinds attached.

Opposite the beds and around the corner from the entryway is the bathroom, which contains a toilet, single-basin sink with an overhead mirror and a shower stall with a shower curtain. There is tile flooring throughout and lighting above the sink and shower.

Community Bathroom

Accessible Description

This community-style bathroom contains an area with toilets and showers with lockable doors, separated by a sink area. Upon entry to the right is the toilet area, which contains four toilet stalls, the third of which from the entry door is wheelchair-accessible. To the left of the toilet stalls, there is a sink area that houses three sinks with a mirror and lighting above them. The sink area opens into the shower area, which contains five shower stalls, one of which is wheelchair-accessible. Each shower area has a shower area and a changing area separated by a shower curtain. The accessible shower contains a detachable shower head and a shower curtain. There are tile floors throughout, overhead lighting and walls that are half tile and half drywall.

All showers and stalls are single person use and private.

Can anyone use this restroom?

Each restroom has a specific code given to the residents at check-in for the restroom on their floor. Guest restrooms can be found near the front desk.
