Accessible Description

This fully furnished one bedroom residence hall room houses two residents in a shared space. Back against the wall to the immediate left upon entry is a sink area which houses a single-basin sink, lower cabinets and an overhead mirror with lighting. The right and left sides of the room each feature a lofted twin XL bed with a small dresser and cabinet underneath, an open closet area with shelving and a clothing rod, a desk, desk chair and a corkboard. This room also comes with a trash can, recycling bin, MicroFridge, microwave and small bookshelf. It also features hardwood floors, overhead lighting and a window with blinds attached.

Does my room have a sink?

The majority of rooms in Jester West have a sink inside the room.

Does my room come with a MicroFridge?

All residence hall rooms come with one MicroFridge. Only one refrigerator is allowed per room, please do not bring a second one. For accommodations, please contact our housing team at housing@austin.utexas.edu.

Double Room (Connecting Bath)

Accessible Description

This fully furnished two bedroom residence hall room contains two identical bedrooms housing two residents each and features a connecting bathroom. Each bedroom features identical furniture with their layouts flipped the opposite direction. Adjacent to the entry doors in both are two open closets with shelving and clothing rods. On the near and far sides of the wall opposite the closets are two lofted twin XL beds with a small dresser and cabinet underneath. Each room’s additional furnishings include four corkboards, two desks and desk chairs, a trash can, recycling bin, bookshelf, Microfridge and microwave. There is overhead lighting, hardwood floors and a window with blinds attached.

The entrance to the bathroom for both bedrooms is in the far corner of the room located straight ahead from each entry door. The bathroom layout is a narrow hallway with one side featuring a toilet stall equipped with a lockable door and a shower stall with a shower curtain. Opposite the toilet and shower is a sink area housing two single-basin sinks with a mirror and lighting above them. The bathroom contains tile floors and overhead lighting.

Premium Single Room (Community Bath)

Accessible Description

This fully furnished one bedroom residence hall room houses one resident in a single space. To the left upon entry is an open closet area with shelving and a clothing rod, located beside a full-length mirror. Around the corner from the closet area and lining the bedroom’s left wall is a desk and desk chair alongside a lofted twin XL bed with a small dresser and cabinet underneath. Opposite the bed in the room’s right corner is small open closet area with shelving and a clothing rod. The room’s additional furnishings include a small bookshelf, MicroFridge, microwave, four corkboards, recycling bin and trash can. The room also features a window with blinds attached, hardwood floors and overhead lighting.

Accessible Description

This fully furnished one bedroom residence hall room houses one resident in a single space and features a private wheelchair-accessible bathroom. Straight across from entry is a twin XL bed. To the left of entry is an open closet area featuring three shelves and clothing rods of varying heights. This room’s additional furnishings include a MicroFridge, microwave, desk, desk chair, small dresser, cabinet, bookshelf, recycling bin and trash can. The room also features a window with blinds attached, tile floors and overhead lighting.

In the room’s far left corner past the closet area is the entryway to the accessible bathroom, which contains a toilet with grab bars, sink with a mirror and lighting above it and shower stall with grab bars and a shower curtain attached. The bathroom features tile floors, overhead lighting and walls of half tile and half drywall.

Double Room (Private Bath)

Accessible Description

This fully furnished one bedroom residence hall room houses two residents in a shared space with a private wheelchair-accessible bathroom. The room features two lofted twin XL beds, both with small dressers and cabinets underneath: one is to the immediate right of the entry door, while the other is straight across from entry. To the left of the entry door is an open closet area, which contains two sets of shelving and clothing rods of varying heights with a small bookshelf underneath. The room additionally comes with a trash can, recycling bin, MicroFridge, microwave and two desks and desk chairs. It also features hardwood flooring throughout, overhead lighting and a window with blinds attached.

In the far left corner of the room, past the closet area, is the entrance to the bathroom, which features three towel hooks, a toilet with grab bars and a sink with a mirror and lighting above it. Beside the sink is a shower area with a detachable shower head, grab bars and a shower curtain. There are tile floors, overhead lighting and a wall made of a combination of tile and drywall.

Triple Room

Accessible Description

This fully furnished one bedroom residence hall room houses three residents in a shared space with a private bathroom. This room is spacious and rectangular and features three lofted twin XL beds with small dressers and cabinets underneath: two are located straight across from entry on the far right and left corners of the room opposite one another, while the other is situated to the left of entry against the room’s left wall. Beside each bed is a desk and desk chair, amounting to three total. There are two open closet areas containing shelving and clothing rods; one is to the immediate right of entry, while the other is situated between the two beds against the left wall. The room’s additional furnishings include two book shelves, a MicroFridge, microwave, trash can, recycling bin and three corkboards. The room also features hardwood floors, overhead lighting and a window with blinds attached.

The bathroom entrance is located just past the closet area by the entry door on the room’s side. A toilet stall and shower stall, both with lockable doors, line the bathroom’s right wall upon entry. Straight ahead from the entry door is a sink with an overhead mirror and lighting. The bathroom features tile floors, overhead lighting and a frosted glass window.

Community Bathroom

Accessible Description

This community-style bathroom contains a toilet area and a shower area, separated by a sink area. To the left of entry is the toilet area, where three toilet stalls with lockable doors line the wall, the last of which is wheelchair-accessible. Past the toilet area to the right is the sink area, which houses two single-basin sinks with an overhead mirror and lighting. The shower area is located just past the sink area and is flanked by an accessible shower on its left and three shower stalls with lockable doors on its right. Each stall contains a changing and shower area separated by a shower curtain. The accessible shower contains a detachable shower head, grab bars and a changing area separated by a shower curtain. The bathroom also features a trash can and hand dryer, along with tile flooring, overhead lighting and walls of half tile and half drywall.
