Triple Room

Accessible Description

This fully furnished one bedroom residence hall room houses three residents in a shared space with a bedroom area and a large closet. The room’s furnishings include three desks with chairs, a MicroFridge, microwave, trash can, recycling bin, two wall-mounted corkboards and three lofted twin XL beds with a dresser and bookshelf underneath. Two of the beds are opposite one another to the immediate right upon entry, with one of the three desks situated in between. Lining the left wall of the room upon entry is the room’s closet, followed by another desk and the room’s third bed. Beside the third bed in the far right corner of the room is the third desk. There is ample room inside the closet, which features three sides of shelving and clothing rods. The room features hardwood floors and overhead lighting throughout and a window with blinds attached.

Can I rearrange the furniture within the room? 

Yes. In Andrews, the desks, desk chairs, bookshelves, dressers and beds are moveable.

Does my room have a trash can and recycling bin? 

All residence hall rooms come with a small trash can and recycling bin. You are responsible for placing your garbage in the trash collection area on your floor.

Can I adjust my bed?

Residents of basement-level rooms in Andrews can choose to have their beds either bunked (one bed above the other) or lofted (adjusting the height of a separate, un-bunked bed). Beds on the first through third floors cannot be lofted, but you and your roommate can choose to have them bunked. The original, default position is un-bunked.

About Andrews

Andrews is on the south side of the Quad. Andrews residents share a large, beautiful courtyard with residents of Blanton, Carothers and Littlefield. The courtyard is great for socializing, playing Ultimate Frisbee and studying under the trees. The Joynes Reading Room in Carothers includes a browsing library, special event venue and two seminar rooms. This area is staffed and supported by the Plan II Honors Program, but is also accessible to all UT honors residents and residents of the Honors Quad. Special events in this space include faculty talks, literary readings by visiting authors, book discussion groups and watch parties for televised events such as presidential debates. What kind of bathroom and shower will I have?

This room has a community-style bathroom. Your community bathroom is located down the hall from your room. You will be given a code at check-in for your gender-specific bathroom. For accommodations, please email housing@austin.utexas.edu.

Does the room have air conditioning and heating?

All of our residence halls have AC and heat. In Andrews, residents are able to adjust the temperature of their room within a certain range from their individual thermostat.

Is there a sink inside my room?

Rooms on the basement level of Andrews do not have their own sink. The majority of rooms on the first through third floors of Andrews have a sink. if you have questions about a specific room or need accommodations, reach out to us at housing@austin.utexas.edu.

Which dining locations are nearby?

The closest dining facilities are Littlefield Patio Cafe in Littlefield Hall, along with Kin’s Market and Kins Dining in Kinsolving Hall. Check out all of the residence hall dining facilities on our Dining page. This building is also close to several restaurants on the stretch of Guadalupe St. known as the Drag.

Does my room come with a MicroFridge? 

All residence hall rooms come with one MicroFridge. Only one refrigerator is allowed per room; please do not bring a second one. For accommodations, please contact our housing team at housing@austin.utexas.edu.

Double Room (Private Bath)

Accessible Description

This one bedroom residence hall room houses two residents in a shared space with a bedroom area, spacious closet and private bathroom. The closet is to the immediate right upon entry and features three sides of overhead shelving and clothing rods, with a small bookshelf on the floor. Lining the room’s right wall past the closet is a small dresser, followed by a desk and desk chair, and door access to the bathroom in the corner. Opposite these furnishings and lining the room’s left wall upon entry are two bunked twin XL beds, along with another dresser and desk with a chair. The room additionally comes with two wall-mounted corkboards, a MicroFridge, microwave, trash can, recycling bin and a second bookshelf. The bedroom features hardwood floors, two windows with blinds attached and overhead lighting.

Inside the small bathroom is a toilet, tightly adjacent to a single-basin sink with an overhead mirror and a shower with a curtain. The bathroom features tile walls and flooring and a frosted glass window.

Premium Single Room

Accessible Description

This fully furnished one bedroom residence hall room houses one resident in a single space with a bedroom area, small sink area and closet. The sink area is located to the immediate left upon entry, featuring a single-basin sink with an overhead mirror and shelving, and a trash can and recycling bin underneath. This small entryway with the sink opens into the bedroom area, which is furnished with a twin XL bed, small dresser, desk and chair, corkboard, MicroFridge, microwave and two bookshelves; one on the ground and one mounted on the wall. The dresser and bed are against the bedroom’s left wall upon entry. The other furnishings line the room’s right side, opposite the bed and dresser. The closet is located in the right back corner of the bedroom area, close to the entry door, and features overhead shelving and a clothing rod. The room features hardwood flooring, overhead lighting and a window with blinds attached.

Community Bathroom

Accessible Description

This community-style bathroom contains three toilet stalls with lockable doors, three sinks with a mirror and lighting above them and three shower stalls. Back against the wall to the immediate left upon entry is the sink area, and opposite the sinks are the three toilet stalls. The farthest stall from the entry door is wheelchair-accessible and features grab bars. To the right of entry are the shower stalls, one of which is accessible and located almost opposite the entry door. Each stall contains a shower area and changing area with a towel rod, separated by a shower curtain, and another curtain separating the shower area from the outside area. The accessible bathroom contains grab bars, a bench and detachable shower head. There is a trash can, recycling bin, overhead lighting and tile walls and flooring throughout.

Do the community bathrooms allow for privacy?

All showers and stalls within the community bathrooms are for single-person use. The showers have curtains and the bathroom stalls within the community bathrooms have doors.

Can anyone use this bathroom?

No, this bathroom is only for residents of this floor. Each community bathroom has a security code that is given to the residents at check-in for the restrooms on their floor. All-gender guest restrooms can be found near the lobby.
