2017 Summer Hiring

The Division of Housing and Food Service is offering the opportunity to earn money this summer working at UT!

Positions Include:

  • Maintenance Worker
  • Painter
  • Building Attendant II
  • Student Assistant Maintenance Worker
  • Student Assistant Building Attendant

 

Individuals will assist our Building Services and Facilities teams working on campus (200 W Dean Keaton) and/or at our University Apartments (3501 Lake Austin Blvd). On campus positions begin May 16, 2017 until August 12, 2017 and University Apartment positions begin June 5, 2017 until September 29, 2017.* Individuals will be eligible to work up to 40 hours per week!**  

*Temporary positions work a maximum of 12 weeks (84 days). Dates may vary based on date of hire.

Temporary Building Attendant II - $11.01 per hour

The purpose of this position is to be responsible for cleanliness of the Division of Housing and Food Service. Duties include cleaning rooms, offices, lobbies, hallways and other areas within the division to prepare for summer and fall occupancy, as well as preparing banquets and meeting rooms for conferences.

 

Temporary Painter - $13.87 per hour

The purpose of this position is to prepare, paint and maintain rooms, hallways, stairwells and other areas within the Division of Housing and Food Service to prepare for summer and fall occupancy. Duties include painting, patching, tape and float and surface preparation of all finishes for interior and exterior as requested by DHFS.

 

Temporary Maintenance Worker - Starting at $11.01 per hour

The purpose of this position is to provide journey level multi-crafted technical trade skills to work required for the maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of Security Services work for the Division of Housing and Food Service. Duties include routine plumbing, electrical, AC, carpentry, painting, drywall, repairs, perform make readies and assist with custodial and grounds maintenance.

 

Student Assistant - Maintenance WorkerStarting at $8.25 per hour

The purpose of this position is to provide assistance to full time staff in all general maintenance activities within the Division of Housing and Food Service. Duties include changing air filters, installing bulletin boards, utilizing a work order system, inspecting and cleaning mechanical rooms, assist with make readies and assisting HVAC, Mechanic Technicians and other Trades in repairs as needed.

 

Student Assistant - Building AttendantStarting at $8.25 per hour

The purpose of this position is to provide assistance to full time staff in all general maintenance activities within the Division of Housing and Food Service. Duties include cleaning rooms, offices, lobbies, hallways and other areas within the division to prepare for summer and fall occupancy, as well as preparing banquets and meeting rooms for conferences.
